Special concerts offer traditional philharmonic events, including the Opening Concert of the season (this year Dennis Russell Davies will enter his fifth season as chief conductor and artistic director of Filharmonie Brno), Advent concert (this year under the baton of Tomáš Netopil and with the music of Viennese classics), a New Year’s concert (conducted by principal guest conductor Robert Kružík) and a concert called the Mozart effect, with a special focus for expectant parents. The annual events are complemented by the September performance of Hans Krása’s children’s opera Brundibár, held in cooperation with the ŠTETL FEST festival.
