Upcoming concerts of 65th season

The series of special concerts offers traditional Philharmonic events, including the Launching the Season concert (this year, Dennis Russell Davies enters his third season as Filharmonie Brno chief conductor and artistic director), the Advent Concert (this time with music by J.C.F. Bach and J.J. Ryba), the New Year’s Concert (under the baton of our permanent guest conductor Robert Kružík and featuring a rising star of the saxophone Jess Gillam) and a concert (not just) for expectant parents, entitled the Mozart Effect. In addition to these events, held every year, there will be a concert showcasing two parts from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons prepared for performance in accordance with the doctrine of the affections, as well as two exceptional chamber music evenings, for which the chief conductor Dennis Russell Davies will present himself as a pianist alongside established wind players of the Filharmonie and his life and artistic partner Maki Namekawa, with whom he will perform, among other pieces, Shostakovich’s Fourth Symphony in the composer’s own arrangement for two pianos.
