On 8 December this year, we will mark the centenary of the birth of Mieczysław Weinberg, an important yet, until recently, half-forgotten Polish-Russian 20th-century composer with Jewish roots. Moravian Autumn commemorates this anniversary with two evenings featuring all six of Weinberg’s sonatas for violin and piano (the second concert will be completed with sonatas for solo instruments), performed by the violinist Milan Paľa and his pianist of choice, Ladislav Fanzowitz, two musicians whose many years of collaboration and unique approach to interpreting 20th and 21st century works guarantees that Weinberg’s music will receive an exceptional performance.
