Ivana Švestková harp
Marek Švestka double bass

Presented by wife-and-husband Ivana Švestková and Marek Švestka, this recital offers solos for harp and double bass and pieces for the two instruments in duo. The programme comprises music from the 18th century to the present, paying special attention to the works of Czech composers. Combining the harp and double bass is unusual, yet Ivana’s and Marek’s recital shows that their “landscapes” can be very close. The title of the concert was inspired by the opening number of the programme: a concert piece for harp solo, The Landscape Nearby, written by the contemporary Czech composer Pavel Trojan for the 2016 Prague Harp competition.

The concert can be purchased as a part of a full subscription at the Ticket office of Filharmonie Brno on Besední Street and online from 27 May 2024.
The concert will be sold separately from 17 June 2024.
