Dear listeners,
due to the illness of one of the soloists, we have had to cancel the María Grand & Maya Keren concert, which was to take place on November 26, 2025.
The concert will therefore take place on an alternative date, March 26, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Besední dům. Tickets remain valid.
Pianist and singer Maya Keren will be replaced by percussionist Miguel Russell.
If the new date does not suit you, please contact our ticket office at predprodej@filharmonie-brno.cz to arrange a refund.

María Grand is a tenor saxophonist originally from Switzerland and based in New York. In 2018, she was voted Best New Artist in a critical poll by the influential Jazz Times magazine and was nominated for the Jazz Journalists Association’s Emerging Musician of the Year Award. After all, it’s no surprise when her debut EP TetraWind, released the year before, was named one of the best jazz debuts of the year by NYC Jazz Record and her first full-length album , Magdalena, was named one of the top ten jazz albums of 2018 in Billboard magazine’s critics’ poll.
In her relatively short career, María Grand has managed to perform with a number of great musicians and musicians, especially from the progressive jazz scene, including Vijay Iyer, Steve Coleman, Craig Taborn, Mary Halvorson and Aaron Parks. The artist leads the ensemble DiaTribe and has toured Europe, the United States and South America as its leader and as a member of other ensembles, playing in clubs, large concert halls and prestigious festivals.
Miguel Marcel Russell (also known as Jean Marcel) is a prominent American jazz drummer and percussionist based in New York. Born in 2002, he began studying at the Harlem School of the Arts at an early age as a child prodigy. His versatile technique combines traditional jazz with African, Latin American, Brazilian, and Haitian rhythms. His playing is strongly influenced by his childhood mentor Baba Don Eaton and his role model Giovanni Hidalgo. He has played with legends such as Wynton Marsalis, Nestor Torres, Paquito D’Rivera, Pedro Martinez, and Theo Crocker.
