Filharmonie Brno is celebrating! It will be seventy, which is just a number in the case of the orchestra. She is still young, fresh, inspiring. And it loves its young and old listeners, for whom it has prepared spectacular celebrations: it will recall important moments from its rich history. Be with us!

Our – and your – Filharmonie Brno was “born” on 1 January 1956 and gave its first concert under its own name less than three weeks later. On the program were fanfares from Smetana’s Libuše, Janáček’s Taras Bulba and Dvořák’s New World. At this year’s first concert of the Family Subscription series, you can look forward not only to these – and other – works, but also to the Brno Philharmonic’s current Principal Conductor Dennis Russell Davies!

For children, a music workshop will be held in the foyer of the Besední dům from 9:15 am (free admission and no registration required). Adults can attend an expert lecture at the same time.
