This series featuring jazz and ethnic music from around the world confirms that the significance of the term “genre” is waning and, at the same time – amidst a deluge of generic, average music generated by artificial intelligence – the importance of live music performed by flesh-and-blood musicians is growing. It is precisely these artists who can work with the atmosphere and character of a venue, create something never heard before right there on the spot, establish genuine contact with the audience, and convey real emotions.
