Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826), Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809-1847), and Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) are among the pillars of German Romanticism, which began to bud in Weber’s work, developed in Mendelssohn’s, and found in Brahms’ works the culmination of its classical-romantic branch, emphasizing music as absolute art.
