  • Paris provides the focal point of the programme: Mozart’s Paris Symphony; the Czech composer Kryštof Mařatka (born 1972), who settled in Paris; and the city’s late Romantic composer and organist, Charles-Marie Widor • Mařatka’s “mosaic of 27 fragments of world music”, composed in 2002 for the French clarinettist, Michel Lethiec • The concert will be preceded by a conversation with the composer, where original recordings will be played that served as sources of inspiration for the work • Widor’s 1894 organ symphony in two movements played by Christian Schmitt, organist of choice to the Bamberg Symphony, a frequent collaborator of Magdalena Kožená, a regular guest at the Berlin Philharmonic and the Salzburg Festival, whose recording of Widor’s organ symphonies has been awarded an ECHO Klassik prize
