One hundred years since the birth of composer Alois Piňos and artist Dalibor Chatrný
Between two deep forests there was a beautiful lada, on which lived a flock of rare roosters. They pecked, clucked, raked and quarreled in the same dump. One sunny morning a little rooster was born, he was strange and when he grew up he had no cockerel, no tail feathers and he didn’t crow, he crowed all the time like a little chick. The other roosters did not see him as extraordinary, but as abnormal, and drove him out of the flock. He wandered alone in the woods, no one wanted to play with him, no one would talk to him. He dug around on his own, looking for roots and seeds until he found some wonderful ones that he liked tremendously – he called them pi-pi-pinea, or pi-pi-pi-piños. Once a seed caught in his throat and he choked. A beautiful pine tree grew on the spot where he died.
