• Three works from the New World • Third Symphony by a leading twentieth-century American composer, written in 1908-1911 and drawing its musical material from spiritual songs, heard by the composer at camp meetings – mass outdoor religious services • Piano Concerto by the American Composer Lou Harrison (1917-2003) with jazz and Far Eastern inflections, composed for the jazz pianist Keith Jarrett and the conductor Dennis Russell Davies and premiered by them in 1985 at New York’s famous Carnegie Hall • Dvořák’s last symphony and his most popular work internationally, composed in the first year of his sojourn in the United States (1893)
