  • The complete performance of Beethoven’s piano concertos is concluded this evening by Elisabeth Leonskaja, under the baton of the chief conductor, Dennis Russell Davies ● The fourth and fifth concertos were dedicated to Beethoven’s pupil, friend and patron, Archduke Rudolf Johann von Habsburg (hence the popular designation of the fifth concerto – Emperor – which did not, however, originate from the composer himself)
