ANTOINE REICHA / MORAVIAN AUTUMN

The volume Antoine Reicha. Actes des rencontres organisées à l‘occasion du 250e anniversaire de sa naissance (Antonín Rejcha. Proceedings of the meetings organised on the occasion of his 250th birthday), edited by Hervé Audéon, Jana Franková and Herbert Schneider for OLMS Verlag, contains fifteen contributions from three meetings organised on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of Antonín Rejcha (1770–1836), in France and in Czech Republic. It provides an overview of the most advanced research concerning the musician’s musical and theoretical work, his thinking and his reception, and draws up a new approach to the early 19th century, which is still little known and during which many great composers were trained – including Hector Berlioz, Franz Liszt and César Franck, who were all among Rejcha’s many pupils. The book will be presented by Jana Franková and Hervé Audéon.
