Audition for the position of second flute player with the duty of piccolo and alto flute

MANAGING DIRECTOR OF THE FILHARMONIE BRNO ORCHESTRA 

invites applications for

THE POSITION OF SECOND FLUTE PLAYER WITH THE DUTY OF PICCOLO FLUTE AND ALTO FLUTE

The auditions are taking place in the concert hall of Besední dům, Komenského náměstí 8, Brno, Czech Republic, at 9 a.m. on December 19^th 2025.

AUDITION CONDITIONS:

1^st round:

Mozart: Flute Concerto in G major, KV 313 – 1^st and 2^nd movement without  cadenzas

Piccolo flute, F. Poulenc:              Sonata for flute and piano – 2^nd movement

 

2^nd round:

Orchestral parts – flute II

1. Smetana: The Bartered Bride (Prodaná nevěsta) – overture
2. Smetana: My country (Má vlast) – The Moldau (Vltava)
3. Dvořák: Symphony no. 9
4. Janáček: Sinfonietta –  3^rd and 5^th movement
5. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy: Symphony no. 4 „Italian“ – 3^rd movement – Scherzo
6. Shostakovich: Symphony no. 9 – 3^rd movement
7. Ravel:                                     Daphnis et Chloé

 

Orchestral parts – piccola

1. Smetana: The Bartered Bride (Prodaná nevěsta) – overture
2. Janáček: Sinfonietta –  2^nd and 3^rd movement
3. Beethoven: Symphony no. 9. – 4^th movement – Marsch
4. Tchaikovsky: Symphony no. 4. – 3^rd movement
5. Shostakovich: Symphony no. 9

 

Orchestral parts – alto flute

1. Stravinsky: The Rite of Spring
2. Ravel: Daphnis et Chloé
3. Shostakovich: Symphony no. 7 – Leningrad

Written applications with CV, contacts, information on the applicant’s education (a diploma from a conservatory or a music academy or university, at least (secondary) school-leaving certificate to the date of orchestra arrival) and overview of previous artistic experience are due on November 19^th 2025 at the following address:
